Looking Forward to New Year's Eve

I'm ready to go home. Although it was nice at first to spend some time with my family, they're starting to get on my nerves. That, combined with missing B and the two of us not getting to talk much, makes me want to be back in my apartment desperately. Getting to usher in the new year with B and spend the weekend together will be great. This will be the first time we spend the night together. Even when we're in the same city, one of us always goes home before the morning. I'm excited, though I know I have to be careful things don't get out of hand. This will be our first New Year's together, and I'm sure it will be memorable.

Sunday I met a guy at a party thrown by one of my sister's friends. He was really nice. We talked for most of the party. He was really easy to talk to. He was opinionated and knowledgeable, but not pushy. I liked him. He had a friend with him and his friend asked me if I had a boyfriend. I implied that I didn't and was single. Not sure that was the best move. It wasn't technically lying since I didn't outright say that but still....

I've been wondering lately if men and women are interchangeable, and if same sex marriage can be the same as that between a man and a woman. It doesn't seem like it can. The dynamic in a gay relationship is so much different from that of a straight one that the two must be significantly different.

boys, family, gay rights, relationships
