Good and bad things 2023

  1. Burned out in January. Was on 100% sick leave until March 1, and gradually went from 75% down to 0% over the course of five months. What did I learn? That feeling like you're going to have a heart attack doesn't mean there's anything physically wrong with you.
  2. Quit chewing tobacco on Januari 11th!!! This is something I'd been dreaming of/planning for a long time. Do I miss nicotine? Yes, but I'm also relieved and PROUD of being nicotine-free. \o/
  3. Jeremy Renner's accident had be catch up on MCU canon (finally watched all those movies on Disney+) AND fanfiction. Thank you for Starker (my favorite new ship) and for all the lengthy, well-produced podfic created by really talented people (both gen and various ships.) Thank you also, for not killing Jeremy Renner.
  4. Improved Health for Seniors - the YouTube channel. When I was sick, I need slow and gentle exercise and found this channel. (They also feature more challenging workouts for when you need that.)
  5. The Mandalorian - Baby Grogu. And my two Grogu dolls my bestie M got me! I strongly dislike small children in TV/movies, but it helps if they're puppets, I guess.
  6. Had another severe episode of OCD, which lasted about six weeks and was horrible enough for me to sign up for therapy again; which probably did more harm than good, but at least I learned from it. Only online therapy was available and I need face-to-face, like in 2017. :(

  1. My cat Elsa is still happy and healthy (ish). She underwent a procedure under sedation a few months ago, which was very stressful for her master (me) and she had a UTI this spring, but no major illnesses beyond that. There will be many more cuddles in the future!
  2. I returned to Germany and visited my friend SilverSolitaire for the first time since 2017! This time, I stayed at a hotel, which was nice. I'm very pleased I managed this trip, although it was a bit ruined by my anxiety, I'm still glad I went.
