I'm writing this entry at approximately 4:53 am, the reason being that I am extremely jetlagged. I returned yesterday from a 3 1/2 week long trip to New York City and Europe! It was truly an amazing experience. I feel as if my mind and soul have been completely refreshed and energized. It was a wonderful way to bring in the new year :)
More on that later, hopefully, but for now I wanted to post another drabble that I wrote for
community.livejournal.com/sortinghatdrabs. It won the week 39 contest much to my happiness :) (and surprise, because there were so many entries!) I had so much fin writing this. I really loved the prompt because the writer could choose their OTP (one true pair). I had to look "OTP" up before I participated, haha. I'm such a newbie to all this.
It may not be the most popular pairing for the OTP, but I think these two work well together, despite the age difference, and I think I'll end up writing a longer fic including those two. (...Plus I really just wanted to write about Tom because he's amazing...xD ) If people can write Tom/Hermione or Tom/Ginny, then why not Tom/Bellatrix?
Anyways, enough rambling from me, here's the drabble! I hope you enjoy it :)
Title: Catalyst
Pairing: Tom/Bellatrix
Prompt: Angels in the Snow
Word Count: 194
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Nineteen-year-old Bellatrix Black gazed longingly at the photograph grasped tightly in her hands. She smiled mischievously, her heavy-lidded eyes darkening as she unabashedly observed its handsome subject.
She had long since memorized his behavior, the way his elegant, long-fingered hands idly twirled his wand, the tilt of his head as he observed his surroundings somewhat reproachfully…
The mysterious young man stood confidently in front of a sinister-looking store whose name was obscured by the fallen snow. He wore an immaculate suit as dark as his well-groomed hair: slightly wavy and neatly parted to the side.
Although the photograph’s once rich black and white tones were now terribly faded, and the lines and shapes blurred, there was no obscuring the look in his eyes. Dark; filled with ambition, power, and pride…riddled with cunning. They haunted her.
She would often look at the back of the photograph when she could no longer bear the mystery, hoping each time that the faded words written there would give her the answers she needed:
T.M.R.
Borgin and Burkes
1946
She knew not who he was, but Bellatrix was captivated by him, a dark angel against the pallid snow.
