back from amazing holiday in France!

Was away with parents in France from last Monday to Saturday. Was part of a coach tour around various areas in France, such as Monet's Garden in Normandy, various Chateaux and towns in The Loire Valley, the Chateau where Napolean abdicated, and Paris.

No planes, just trains. We got a Virgin Pendilino and Eurostar trains to and from home to Paris. Rest of France was via the coach tour. Finally got to go on the Eurostar and go through the Channel Tunnel (and going on the tilting Pendilino was a first as well).

The weather was ok, not too hot, rained sometimes, but mostly ok.

Getting used to the Euro, French people speaking French, and vehicles driving on the wrong side of the road. Traffic lights were different to here, crossings always had white zebra crossing lines on them.

C&A stills exists in France. Kept seeing "Lafayette" all over, reminded me of Captain Sisko's middle name. Also a company called "Picard".

Cool also that I got to see Paris properly for the first time ever. Eiffel Tower views - woohoo!!!!

Mainly I was interested in The Valley of the Kings (The Loire Valley) with its amazing chateaux.

Saw the spot where Joan of Arc put here foot on a well, visited the last home of Leonardo Da Vinci, visited the home of painter Claude Monet.
