The Mummy Returns DVD
Finally finished watching The Mummy Returns DVD. All was going fine until about 48 minutes in, where it was skipping / pausing / stopping. Tried to clean the disc (first with a DVD cleaning fluid, then with Skip Doctor). Ended up putting rest of the movie on the DVD player attached to the TV, rather than the computer.
It has several DVD-ROM features, that I not to bothered about at the moment.
On to the movie. The Rock was underused. He only popped up (in the flesh) in the movies 5000 years in the past prologue. Later he was a bad cgi Scorpion King monster (I even remember it looking that bad in the cinema back in 2001!).
Oh and like 2004's Van Helsing, The Mummy Returns logo popped up at the end of the film (Stephen Sommers - can't he put his movie logos at the beginning - hope it doesn't happen on GI Joe).
Need to sleep now, get ready for The Mummy 3.
edit: despite using skip doctor last night that scene at 48 mins still pauses / stops on the computer (was fine on the TV DVD player). Maybe there is still a minor defect on the playing surface. The PC reported it as a "bad block" or a "bad sector" or that it was "unreadable".
