Most of the roads in the old City are cobbled / stoned. They do have some tarmaced roads, but most are cobbled.
If you are 18 to 24, using your passport in museums / ruins to get entrance tickets gets you discounted ticket entries!
The heat in Rome was overwelming. You cant even eat ice cream without it melting all over my hands (was better off eating desert in restaurants). It had cooled down by last Thursday though (still much warmer than here in the UK).
Also I reckon I need a new suitcase / luggage bag. I kinda forgot at East Midlands that the strap on my 11 year old bag is broken (the metal bit musta snapped on one of the many trips up and down to Manchester during my uni years). I managed OK without it with the handle to drag it on its wheels and the velco handle to hold it (but could not use the strap to put on my shoulder). In fact I reckon my parents need new suitcases as well - their current ones are ancient looking. Only my brothers one is fine (it was 9 years old new and never used until last week).
