So I've got court date Monday and as long as I don't lose my license, I SHOULD be getting a car I've been wanting for about 3 years.
It's another contour, but it's a 98.5 SVT (200hp v6, 5 speed, nice interior and exterior stuff), big step up from my 96 auto 4cyl. It already has a few modifications (some of them are really trick, I'll update on that if/when I get it). Only real problem it has is a bent shift fork. Not a big deal (just makes 1st gear grind/pop out 70% of the time), only a $16 part, but I have to pull the tranny to put it in (thinking atleast 10 hours of work). But for the deal I'm getting on the car, I can't complain.
How I'm finally able to get one. Well contours have been deprecaiting greatly. When I first got my contour, the SVT would have been ~$11k. Now, I'm getting it for a LOT less.
It's not definite yet, but it's looking good. I should know next week for sure. It'll just be nice to have a car that I actually enjoy owning/can be proud of.
And I've already got 3 people interested in buying my contour, so it should be no problem getting rid of it, paying for most/all of the SVT.
