mmyes. pretty mariah carey song. too bad she's a slutbag, or this song would be more enjoyable.
so, since I've been home- almost 2 weeks now, and it feels like forever- I've hardly been at home at all. I come into my house, and my parents are like, "AHH!! WHO ARE YO- oh, hi kristen."
yes, my social life has exploded, and it's all been wonderful and marvy and good good times. ocassional bouts of weirdness, but mostly really enjoyable.
last night I saw pirates 2 with teh ted, rachael, anne, jakub, jack, alejandro and anne's other friend. I'm an ass who forgets her name now. but the movie was good, more fun for me than the last one, which I thought was (I'm sorry, PotC fans on my friends list!!) kinda boring and way too long. this one was pretty long too, and I lost track of the plot. I can't actually tell you what the plot was, what the heart in the box does, or anything. my mind was drifting a lot during those 2.5 hours, not because I was bored, but it just was.
what I can tell you, though, is.... GIANT OCTOPUS MONSTERS WILL PWN YOU IF YOU GO OUT TO SEA AND RIP YER FACE OFF WITH ITS AWESOME TENTACLEY DOOM POWERS!!!!1!! I got a little too excited from those parts, but it was okay. fascination with sea creatures + fascination with special effects = ZOMG KREETON. I love when movies make me bounce in giddyness like a little ass. but seriously, the special effects were totally amazing, worth the price of admission just for that.
the best part, hands down, were the cartoony antics while cap'n jack and the crew were in the jungle. I don't think I've ever seen anything funnier captured in live-action film. awesome to the fourteenth power.
not like I need to say it more, but I'm so glad I'm home. calfornia avenue in west seattle is the only california I ever want to see again.
I need to go to curves and sign up. go to curves, kristen, go to curves... your waistline with thank you...
my children's lit class is weird. did y'all know I'm taking an english course through the UW online for my last college credit? I needed an elective credit. so I'm reading all these fairy tales, and, did you know? fairy tales are FOKKED. cannibalism, chopping children up into stew, child abuse, beastiality, 7-year olds getting married, blood, paganism, imminent death, murder, abusive marriages... in farkin' fairy tales. you wanna read a creepyass fairy tale, read "blue beard" or "the robber bridegroom." jee-zuz christ. this summer I'll be reading treasure island, the wind in the willows, peter pan, little women... I just read the hans christen anderson version of the little mermaid and it's actually really beautiful. I felt so at peace while I read it. too bad the mermaid dies in his version.
missing kristin like hell...I hope she's not upset with me.
I completely forgot that the seafair pirates landed on alki beach this morning. what an appropriate weekend for them to do that. hee!
maybe I'll tackle more of my samurai champloo ps2 game before meeting up with the gang to drink/blackout tonight.
