wow... only 2 more weeks? really?
good things to happen today:
1. got a clear ipod case in the mail that I ordered off of ebay. it's kinda weird- not as good at hiding screen scratches as I'd like- but way better than nothing.
2. got my car tabs in the mail from mom!! she had mailed them to me in april, and then the two funerals/moving out/graduation/hopping all over the country happened. all while the car was in the shop. so, not surprisingly, they disappeared. now I don't have to drive illegally anymore! big yay to that.
3. got a graduation check/card from aunt penny, also from the mail, with a check for $300 inside. YESSSSSS. I'm only keeping some of it for now; the rest will go plop! right into my savings account. I'm trying to save up for future rent payments. she had actually mailed me a card before, and it got lost somehow between seattle and LA. not the first time that's happened to my mail before, unfortunately. but I do think she was able to cancel that first check.
4. went out to lunch with friend justin. over yummy plates of nachos we discussed ebay (and our addictions to it), being LMU alumni, and the pure evil that is dean teri schwartz of the school of film and television. justin is teh awesome.
5. went to work study, where I was, as always, warmly accepted by my elder co-workers and cooed at for always doing such a good job. I really love my work study people. honestly, I feel really bad for them, because-- and here's me in an unusual moment of tooting my own horn, but it must be said-- I don't think they'll easily find another work study student like me. I actually care to do a good job and my friendships with the staff make me work that much harder. I was told once that I was the best worker they'd ever had and that I more than likely always will be. even on days when there's nothing to do, I still feel happy there because everyone tells me on a daily basis what a good job I do. how many jobs do you get to have like that?
6. had a fun, albeit brief, phone conversation with friend/fellow land pirate tom, who's currently en route to tacoma to join fort lewis' AFB. yay for him!
7. modeling for bernard on sunday. yes. I was supposed to do it last sunday, but arlene and bernard's apartment got flooded last week, which has shifted things around some. bernard's paintings of me will supposedly be a focal point in his next show as a series. a SERIES. can you believe that?! I think I'm pretty much over my insecurities about the whole thing. I'm so flattered and so honored to be a part of his artwork that that cancels out any shyness I've been feeling. plus, I'm not expected by him to do anything that doesn't make me comfortable.
yesterday I got about 4 scenes done on my thesis, but now I have to try to finish more. I hope I have at least a semi-decent, albeit unfinished, product to turn in 2 weeks from now.
