isnt it amazing?

It never ceases to amaze me that a book or a movie, or a simple line, can change your life. Simple words strung together, that can mean absolutely nothing to one person, can mean life or death to another. It can inspire dreams, evoke convictions and question all the things you were taught.
A sentence or quote can stick with you a lifetime. Just a random comment can have such a profound effect, change a life.. change a person.
Other things can do it too of course, a single event, a drug, an experience, a connection.
But the fact that another persons inspiration can be yours too.. an idea, a word.

When I read The Celestine Prophecy, It changed my view on the world.
When I read The Perks of Being a Wallflower, I remembered the moments I felt infinite
When I heard the song How To Be Dead, it made me an adult in adversity
When I watched A Home At the End of the World, I realised the world was pretty
When I read Guide to Getting it On, I understood I wasnt a slut or dirty, and sleeping around doesnt make one dirty and immoral or lower ones status
When I heard Luck Me by Sarah Slean, I was no longer afraid
When a friend of mine casually joked I looked like a bum in my baggy t shirts, I became more girly

On that note, words hurt. Its never what you say, but how you say it. There are nice ways of saying no. saying "FUCK THAT!" Is not one of them. The words you say and how you say them is remembered. So remember everyone, inspiration can be found in even the simplest things. A smile can save a life, a kind word can go on forever, and everyone can do with a little more kindness. Less swearing and anger and more respect and trying to work things out rather then accuse is a good goal to have. We are the future, as cliche as that sounds. Most of us remember growing up with our parents fighting, we've seen ppl used and abused in both literary terms as well as metaphorically. We've all seen injustice. Few of us arent affected by what we see. We've all been wronged, and we;ve all been hurt. We've all, each and every one of us, earned our scars. Respect that, its common ground. Do we really want others, especially those that care about us, to experience those horrid emothions that we ourselves have wished for death to escape? That feeling in the pit of your stomach or constricted in your chest that nothing can help? Sure, we smoke our troubles away, drown our sorrows, return the painful favour. We all have our ways of abusing ourselves or others as retaliation, but it isnt dealing. Its running.. and just continuing the chain of abuse, to go on and on till the world is bitter.
Grow up.
Most of us are now adults, start acting like it.
