Words of Wisdom from Mother Nature!

I've learned a valuable lesson over the past few days. I'll try to distill it into a few sound-byte sized nuggets.

1. If you are clearing brush in a semi-wooded area, you need to protect yourself from bugs and poisonous plants. You can do this by wearing long sleeves, long pants, and heavy gloves.

2. Even if you are wearing heavy gloves, you are not necessarily safe from poison ivy -- especially if you still have the gloves on when you pause in your endeavors to wipe the sweat from your brow. Of course, you wouldn't be so sweaty if you weren't wearing long sleeves, long pants, and heavy gloves!

Just thought I'd share that with y'all while I'm waiting for the doctor to shoot me up with something so I can open my right eye again. It has swollen shut. My forehead is oozing. My right ear is all crusty. My right cheek has progressed from oozing to scabby.

And everything itches!
