long time no write. meh. i just write in xanga and myspace. but, heres whats going on.
today during music tech i FINALLY started my ostinato project. i had to have Xkylar help me cuz i was just so dang confused. i have about 10 measures so far, but it isnt that good. i tried to go through and beef it up but i have ADD lately so it was hard to concentrate. heres what i have so far.
key of g minor. instruments- clarinet, tenor sax, trumpet, piano. piano has ostinato ground bass pattern in left hand. chords=(root position)= i II iii IV, V i, I II iii IV, V, i II iii VI, V IV ii II, i. (commas = measure breaks)
the ostinato pattern is 7 measures long which i think is a really weird number but its ok. i like what i have so far. im going to have to work on it. i was really surprised how good my ear is, because i just played something that i liked like Xkylar said to and i ended up have a half cadence in the middle, (which i needed) without even knowing i had done it. (half cadence= a chord going from something to V.) and it ends in an authentic cadence, which is good too. go me! i wanna throw in maybe a deceptive cadence somewhere in the middle. i like those cadences.
i also broke my glasses again today. the super glue my mom used worked pretty good. about 19 days or so. so i had to call the optomitrist and make an appointment for monday at 3pm. i wont be able to work on monday, but thats ok. this is kinda important.
on saturday i have a flute lesson and i have to make dough and i have to go to the Chula Vista Nature Center with some people from my bio lab cuz we have this project thing we have to do. then im going to go home and try to take some stuff to the apartment. on sunday dustins mom is gonna get steves truck and we're gonna move my bed and desk and stuff over. on monday i have my eye doctor appt, and then i wont work. Heroes is on monday night (YAY!) but i dont have cable yet at the apartment (BOOOO!!!) so Katie said i can just run across the street to her apartment and watch it there. (DOUBLE YAY!) so thats cool. and then...on tuesday...DUSTIN COMES HOME!!! AHHH!! im so excited and nervous and anxious and i dunno what else. i just want him to be home already!!
so starting friday night im going to be living at the apartment. in case anyone wants to stop by, or send me letters so i feel cool, or stalk me, heres the address.
