You too can vote to take away civil rights from someone

A man in California wants to ban divorce. This is based on the grounds that if a ban on gay marriage is needed to protect traditional marriages, than a ban on divorce should protect marriages even more!

I think, that while this will not pass, it does make a very pointed statement: You too can vote to take away civil rights from someone else.
