March 30, 2007 - Celebrating ADMU BS Bio Batch 2007 (and the three Cs) :D
My day started with our Baccalaureate Mass at 7am in the HS Cov Courts. No, scratch that. The day started with me waking up from a 3-hour sleep. WTH? What is up with my sudden insomnia-like attacks? I just don't get it. I think I went to bed before 12mn . . or 12mn. Whatever. I remember spending hours just tossing and turning, wondering why the hell can't I fall asleep. I only had 4 hours of sleep the night before, why can't I make up for that like I usually do? Like any normal person does?
Anyway.
Baccalaureate Mass. 7am. What a challenge for a perennially late person like me. I got up early enough, put on my new dress and earrings, grabbed my toga and my dad, then left. Still, I am late. Hahaha. Jan kept texting me where I am, blah blah. Anyway, we were able to get to the seats Jan and her mom reserved for us just in time. Actually, I got to my seat first. Dad had to his before-leaving-the-car ritual. So I was able to catch the mass in time, dad lumbered in a little late. Waha.
During the mass, I looked at the people around me. So most of the Bio peeps were seated together. I love it. First time seeing these people in togas. Wah, it was just exciting for all of us. We're gonna graduate soon! :D
After the mass, all of us Bio peeps had a photo shoot, care of our parents. Saya. :D After that I was able to see Jekki, and I ran after him to get a pic. Crush ko sya, why not? Di naman nya alam yun e, haha. He probably thought I wanted to get pics of everyone, but strangely enough, I just had to get one with him. We're not even friends, more like acquaintances. Wahahaha. Makapal naman mukha ko e, kaya ok lang. I'm just happy I had a pic with him. Taken by my dad, no less. Haha!
Afterwards, my dad headed on towards the HS caf. As usual, we wanted to wait out some of the traffic created after the mass. On the way there, I ran into Pau, Weng and Kaycee. Wheee! Haha, I never thought I'd see them (i think it never crossed my mind that they'd be there, I was just thinking about my Bio batchmates.), but I was really happy I did. Camwhoring na toh. Then, Weng and Pau went with my dad and I to the caf.
We got a table and I went with my dad to get drinks. In the line, I met up with Teejay. I had a pic with him right there. Oh yeah.
We went back to the table, with drinks for everyone. Dad wanted to buy drinks for my friends. Weng was talking to a friend, I was commenting on Pau's lovely dress. Then, Leloy came along. Now of course, I wanted a pic with our valedictorian. (Sa excitement ko, I forgot to take of my cord. Wth. Haha. Jologs.) So there I was, posing and smiling with Leloy as Pau got ready to take our pic. Then Wengy's friend left and she turned around and saw us. Just as Pau was about to hit the shutter button, Weng cried loudly, "Ay, gusto ko rin ng celebrity shot!!" Wahahaha! The camera captured both Leloy and I distracted by Weng's hilarious comment. Take two na lang ulit.
After a while,. my dad and I left. We picked up Ces by the waiting shed near Gate 3. She had nothing to day 'til the Bio Party at 4pm at Mateo Ricci, so I invited her to hang out at my house. I think we dropped by the UP Shopping Center at first, to have some pics recopied. Then, my dad treated us to brunch at Brewing Point. We shared my favorite dish there, chicken BBQ and pesto past, and our all-time favorite comfort food, chocolate moist with caramel . . . and with extra caramel. Ooooooh. You people have got to try it.
We went back to my place. We stayed in my room, writing out dedications for our friends at the back of our grad pics and playing with my mom's new shihtzu. She still doesn't have a name yet at the time. I was tasked to give her a name but I was too busy with these week 's happenings to come up with anything.
Around 3:00, we left my house. We got our pics at UP, then we dropped by Ces' place. She needed to get stuff for our picnic at the Bel field later.. Anyway, we ended up cramming more dedications for people. As a result, we came to the Bio Party a little late. Boo.
When we got there, I think the teachers were giving us their farewell messages, one by one. Aaaw, we missed most of it. Afterwards, the hosts showed us a ppt presentation prepared by Sir Ron. Hahaha, sobrang saya. It showed all our achievements, (quiz bees, championships, etc.), all our trips together, all our work spent our lab, our theses, etc. Then, it showed a clip of who got minor degrees. It showed a pic of Alvin and I with Sir Ron. Haha, nahiya ako bigla nun, napaupo nga ko sa seat ko e. But people cheered for us, so I felt a bit better. Wahahahaha.
Then, the parlor games came up. Haay, I can't believe we still had to do that. Anyway, I was part of Trip to Jerusalem. A kinky version, mind you. Kawawa si George Ang, laging asartado. Anyway, I think Candy and Charles won. Again. They did during our last Christmas party. Candy talaga, kinakawawa si Charles. Hehe.
After all the games, it was Sir Ron's turn to give a speech. Good thing I didn't miss that one. Haha, I don't remember what he said, hahahaha. But I think we all really, really appreciated it. Si Sir Ron yun e, sobrang close sa batch namin.
Afterwards, it was the Bio Awards. Hahahahaha, now that was fun. I forgot most of the awards given. These are all I remember:
Alvin Altarejos for "Future Dr. Panes"
Jeffray Ang for "First Millionare"
Paolo Rase and CJ Villafuerte for "JD of the Batch (Kenkoy)"
Ina Gutierrez for "Next Top Model"?
Gio, Kalen & Junno for "Triangulo Award"
Jowel & Cheann for "Kasal-Kasalan Award"
Pagkatapos, kainan na!!! Well, they all started eating, but I wanted to just camwhore. I took pics of anyone I could, with my friends, table pics, with the teachers. I even had a much coveted pic with Charles! Haha. Then I exchanged grad pics with my friends. Then finally, I chowed down. I remember LeeHok's yummy barbeque, the juice tetrapacks I had a hard time finding, and the ice cream . . . I don't think I ate any, gusto ko ata magpapapayat. But I remember looking at all that Magnolia ice cream fondly, haha.
Afterwards, Reine, Jose, Candy, Teejay, Ces, Jan, and I headed out to the Bel field to hangout. We bought banigs, pillows, and candles. Bboy came by after his dreadful shopping day with his sister. Nyahahaha, funny story. Since we were being bitten by vicious mosquitos, we had Boby bring us a Katol or blanket. So there we were, revealing secrets, laughing. Eventually, cars coming from the HS were passing by the Bel field towards the exit. So the grad of the other schools were already finished. I remember thinking, "That's gonna be us tomorrow."
Later, when only Bboy, Ces and I were left, I remember finishing off our Bel field picnic by making fools of ourselves along the Bel field and its lit-up trees. Hahaha, san na kaya mga pics na yun, pang-blackmail yun e. So this ended my day with my Bio batchmates. It was great to have one last party with everyone, just to celebrate our friendship and the 4 years we had together. I swear, I would never have passed the school without them. I know every single one of them. I asked for help even those I just knew by name, and I gave help to those who hardly knew me. I ended up being good friends with people I wasn't properly introduced to, just people I happen to know by name and who eventually became my classmates. And to this very day, one year later, I'm still good friends with them. They made my college experience the way it was, just three Cs - Challenging, pero Cramming at Chillax palagi.
Then I went home to cram more dedications for friends. I remember taking half a sleeping pill and turning in around 1am (it was that late because my family kept askign me questions on how to take care of the new dog, no matter how much repeatedly I told them I had to wake up early tom.) When sleep still won't come and hour later, I ended taking the other half of the pill, and another one to go with it. The prescribed dosage Never mind if I feel woozy tomorrow, I need some sleep! It's gonna be my Ateneo Graduation Day!! :D
