Nov 20, 2008 18:40

WHO: Morgana and Gwen
WHAT: Finding the Box for Gwen
WHEN: November 1
WHERE: Morgana's Chambers

Gwen smiled at the flowers she'd picked arranging them in the vase at her lady's bedside with a smile, smelling them a little.

Morgana woke and looked over, smiling as she pushed herself up to sitting up. "Good morning."

Gwen smiled, "Good morning." She replied happily, "I picked these for you." She offered before walking to the window and tying back the drapes

The lady raised her hand and touched their soft petals a moment, smiling. "They're very beautiful, thank you."

She smiled softly and shrugged, "It's nothing." she replied softly. She walked over to her clothes taking out a few dresses, "Which would you like to wear today?" she asked

"I suppose I should be presentable," Morgana sighed. "Which do you think is best?"

She smiled looking at them, "I like the blue one, it's a nice day for it."

"Blue it is, then," she replied, carefully slipping out from beneath her covers and moving to her changing screen. "Bring it over for me, will you Gwen?"

She nodded smiling knowingly to herself, "You know I heard Arthur has another training session if you wanted to watch." She offered

"It might be amusing," Morgana replied, changing out of her shift and into a clean one before stepping into her dress. "Help me with the laces," she said. "He's likely to be in.... more fierce form than usual."

"Why would you think that?" she asked her fingers pulling firmly on the laces

"Just a feeling."

She looked at her curiously, "Has he said something?"

"No... not verbally, no." Morgana turned and went to her dressing table, picking up her brush. She turned and looked at Gwen. "Remember the box I found?"

She nodded picking up the discarded clothes

"I believe Arthur has one as well."

"Oh..." She replied softly

Morgana smiled softly to herself as she set the brush down, unbraiding her hair. "Have you found one, Gwen?" she asked.

She shook her head, "not yet, but my father did say someone had left a package for me. "

"Go fetch it, I can brush my hair, Gwen. If it is, I would like to know."

"Are you sure?" she asked softly.

"I won't be leaving my rooms for a little while yet," she assured her.

She nodded, "Alright. I won't be long." She reassured running out of the room.

She returned a little while later carrying the box wrapped in fabric into the room.

Morgana had just finished putting her hair in a simple plait, and turned in her chair. "Open it," she smiled.

She looked at her with a nervous smile before chewing on her lip as she unwrapped it and opened the box

"Well?" she asked.

"I think it is." SHe replied stepping aside to show her as she opened it up.

Morgana stood, moving over to stand beside her maidservant. "So it is," she smiled.

"I suppose I press this." she replied pressing the button and watching it flicker to life. "Won't the kng find out?" she asked

"I don't think it's real magic," Morgana said. "And see how small it is? Easy to hide, I'm sure."

She nodded, "I should find somewhere safe for it, what do I do now"

"If you want, you can keep it here - Uther wouldn't dare search my rooms," Morgana replied with a smile. "See these small squares with the letters? They let you create words on the flat piece."

She smiled trying a few out "Oh!" she smiled laughing,

Morgana smiled, sitting down and watching her.

She looked over at her, "Have you done anything with yours?" she asked

"I have.... Gwen, may I ask you something?"

She nodded turning to look at her properly.

"What do you think of Merlin?"

"Ummm I...She smiled a little and looked at her curiously, "Why"

"I'm curious," she said.

She smiled, "I like him, he's a nice guy...ordinary you know? What do you think of Arthur?"

"I think he's getting better, somewhat. He's still a prat though."

She smiled, "Do you like him?"

"I suppose I like him well enough," she shrugged slightly.

"Well enough?" She asked

"Well, I don't quite like him the way people think I ought," she admitted.

"Oh..." She replied watching her. "You never said."

"Is it important?"

"Well I thought we were friends"

"Of course we are! Gwen... You've been with me as long as I've been here."

She walked over and sat beside her on the bed, "I suppose it's always been assumed..."

"That I want what everyone wants me to? Gwen, since when have I ever done what I'm told?"

"You two always seem to just bounce off each other.

"...And?"

"You just seemed to fit, I suppose."

"What, like you and Merlin?" she teased.

She blinked , "Oh..." She replied with a shrug. "I see what you mean."

"What? You did just say you like Merlin."

"I keep getting these smiles from people." she replied

"Is something wrong with that?"

She shrugged softly, I suppose not." SHe replied. "It's better than scowling."

"Yes, yes it is," Morgana replied with a small laugh, inwardly promising herself not to show Gwen the boys drunken conversation.

She smiled, "So why would Arthur be fiercer than usual?" She asked looking back at the box

"Oh, you know how he gets when Merlin runs off and forgets to tell him he's going somewhere," she said offhandedly.

"Oh true," She replied before smiling shaking her head. "Those two are so odd."

"They certainly are."

She sighed and looked at the machine reading it curiously before realising she should be working cloing the box

"Done already?" the Lady asked.

"Umm well I really should be doing something else."

"If you must," Morgana sighed.
