Dear Reader, Here's a list of everything that's happened to me in the last week.
Worked at Mountain Top Sports; got a raise for passing a bunch of technician certification tests.
Went snowboarding for the first time.
Got my first grade (and my first A) for the semester.
Met Holly, a really nice classmate in music history and concert class.
Went to Eryn's birthday party, where I made a couple new friends.
Got my car back from the repair shop after 4000 dollars of repairs and 2 weeks of labour.
Consequently returned the rental car.
Almost got sick and averted it by indulging in smoothies filled with vitamin C.
Read 280 pages of the Bible.
Read the entire Nevada Department of Education's laws and 100 pages of No Child Left Behind Act.
Practiced for approximately 28 hours.
Cleaned my room.
Played trombone at a basketball game.
Spent about 4 hours in the DMV.
Spent about 50 hours sleeping.
Phew! And today was a really great way to top off all this. After having a normal music history, music theory, and wind ensemble rehearsal, I came back to clean my room and rest. That was all routine and then I had a friend's party to go to at 7. For the first time I played the Sims, and it's extremely addicting. The addiction factor is increased when you're playing on multiplayer mode with a really pretty girl in command of the other controller. Ahhh that was nice! What makes it better is that she is in my EL 401 class, perhaps the most boring of all classes that I have! (not anymore, hehe) Anyway, we exhanged numbers and I socialized a bit with the other people. They were all fun-loving people and most of them were republicans! It was so cool to be with people that agreed with me about everything, all the way down to politics. It sure was rare and by 10 I had 4 numbers of various people.
Then I was called and was asked to give a private lesson for this girl who drove from Elko to audition for the UNR bands. An hour later, she told me everything that makes me who I am. She complimented me on helping her and then she told me how I did a better job at teaching than any of her instructors back in Elko! 20 dollars later, I was richer financially and in character! I have never lost my way as a music education major, but this completely reminded me of why I'm making this decision in my life.
So, today was a really good day.
