So at 6:30 the doors open. (When I expected because the tix said the show started at 7:30.) I don't know when we got inside, but we had finished our water by the time we got there and thankfully one of the radio interns got a pic of the girls a few people in front of us so didn't ask me at all. The girl behind me was there with her mom, I believe and they were commenting on my shirt. I think she had Downs Syndrome, so I didn't say anything. Anyway, got inside and there were only a GAZILLION people. Where the entrance was was at the back of the arena, so we had to go around to our section: 114. As we walked, I kept passing Merch booths. No biggie. I figured we'd find our seats and then head to the Merch tables. So our section, 114, had floor access. This meant that WE HAD to show the TWO ushers our tix every time we went down there so they knew if we were headed to the floor or not. I didn't mind. It wasn't that big a deal. So we found our seats, which were just off the tip of the "penis stage." Not bad, if I do say so myself. Then we headed back up to the concourse so I could buy my tee shirt. When I FINALLY got the front of the line, the girl beside me got the LAST program at our booth. (I'll buy one online.) So I bought my 2 tee shirts and my lanyard and called it good. Then Hubby headed to go find food and I headed off in serach of a program.
I decided not to stand in the LONG lines again for a program, and instead, when the lights went out and everyone screamed, I was still on the concourse so I headed down. I was curious about the opening act. So I managed to find my seat in the dark and saw that it was Ashlyn Huff. She wasn't bad, but she was wearing a sparkly leotard. And her dancers were like WAY better than she was. Anyway, no one really cared. I figured we still had Jordin Sparks to come, so I just kicked back. Hubby came back with drinks and nachos. It wasn't much for dinner, but I knew it probably cost him like $20. Eventually the lights went down again. I totally thought it was going to be Jordin Sparks, until the black scrim dropped and they raised a white one. I asked Hubby what the difference was (as he worked in the theatre) and he said the white ones are opaque if you project one way and transparent if you project the other way. Then they started projecting NKOTBSB stuff on it. Okay, the show was starting!
