When I saw the sign cafe BALICAT, I immediately thought of the Filipino word balikat. It seemed like a pretty weird name for a cafe, but for one reason or the other, Tes and I went inside this "cat cafe." (This was a week ago? or was it two weeks ago? I forgot!)

Like most things in Seoul, you just have to make that "leap of faith" whenever something sounds odd, crazy, distasteful or downright weird.
Fortunately, this "cat cafe" ended up being a real find. It was cute, cozy and yes, there were real furry, chubby cats around the place. Personally, I'm not a pet person, but even I had to go "awwwww" when I saw the cute cat. This particular cat went around sniffing people's bags on the floor. Uh-oh.

The cafe was really filled with all cat-related stuff! Most of it looked like it was from Japan. And the furniture was all from Ikea.

It had a nice, warm atmosphere, plus lots of magazines and books (sadly in Korean) to browse though. I am so getting these Tokyo guide books, even if its in Korean, just because it listed down a lot of cool places!

The cafe owners thoughtfully provide those lint rollers, so you can get rid of any cat fur that may stick to your clothes!
I would go back to this place... if I can find it again in Hongdae!
