I have a job interview! It's for a mentoring position, working with 16-21 year olds from 'difficult' backgrounds and supplementing their work in school. I really think I could be good at this, and I've found similar work to be really fulfilling in the past. And it's not an hourly paid job! It'll be a grown-up job! Whoo!
So yar - next week I'll be leading an activity of my own devising with a group of students, followed by a formal interview. Since there's no lecturing work going at the moment, and my career prospects aren't really going to open up until I've got my doctorate next year, then this will be a perfect means of working full-time with students and developing confidence, experience and all the jazz.
And it keeps me out of retail. ^^
