The Past, The Present, Valentine's Day, and Beyond...

So, as I've been reading back in the old lj, I've noted that I have gotten away from writing about the mundane everyday things that go on in my life. I've also stopped writing about most larger events, because I don't have the same time on my hands, and because now there are crazy distractions like Facebook and MySpace and IMing and everything else under the sun to take up my online time. It's a shame, really, as I have been looking back, and actually remembering some of the days from Dragon Tales Live tour, and days at the Prince, etc. that I had forgotten about almost entirely. I don't want to forget THESE days, as they are some of the best I've ever had. I think my sadness and whininess from most of the last three years turned me off of writing in the lj, because everything came out depressing. Sometimes, I needed to write... lj was a sanity saver on a number of occassions... But now that I'm experiencing the happy again, I feel like I should be writing more...

To that thought, I just wanted to put a little note in about this past weekend. There was hardly anything SUPER EXTRA CRAZY special about it, but somehow it inspired both Pat and I to make note of it. :-)

Thursday night after band practice, I went up to King of Prussia to visit Pat. We'd fully intended on making it out to karaoke with Kurt (especially since I was in fine voice, even after practice, and thankfully remained so), but we got a little sidetracked (heh), and ended up staying in and being snuggly. This, you will note, will be a common occurrance throughout the weekend... ;-)
Friday, Pat had errands to run with his dad, so I slept in, and then when he got home, I was awake and we managed to get sidetracked again... and then went to Wawa for lunch, and came back and played a bit of Sonic & Golden Axe on Pat's new arcade stick (so cool!) before we headed back to DE so that I could get ready for the Delirious Rush gig. The gig itself was maybe the best we've ever played. The sound was good, the band played well, the crowd was great, and into it. Our friends were insane, and all seemed to have a great time. We premiered 5 new songs, and all seemed to be appreciated. Was a good night.
Saturday was Valentine's Day! Pat and I had no REAL plans, just a clear sense that we wanted to spend the day together. Turned out to be quite the perfect way to do things, as we tend to run around so much with big plans and events on our plates. I woke up before Pat, and since I'd been anxious to give him his gift since I finished it, I got up and made him some coffee and grabbed my gift and made a little Happy-Valentine's-Day wakeup event out of it. Felt nice. We lazed around in bed for another hour or so, then went out to the Christiana Mall to get Cinnabon for breakfast (!!!), and so that Pat could have some time to compile his super-evil-fantastic-awesome Valentine's Day gift... I ended up with 2 guitars and 4 versions of Guitar Hero byt the time he was done. Hells yeah. I kinda love my boyfriend.
We came home and got lazy again... ordered Chinese food... watched some anime (I'm bein' schooled!), and lit the WoodWick candle for a while, as we relished each other's company on the most romantic of holidays. It's hard to make two geeks any happier than we were.
Sunday we ate at the Cereal Bowl for breakfast (Finally!)... It was very tasty, though I think I'll be addicted to their peanut butter sandwiches before they ever hook me on their actual cereal concoctions... (Raspberry white chocolate peanut butter with Fluff and bananas FTW!)
After breakfast, we were domestic for a bit... Went grocery shopping, back to the mall to exchange a part of the Guitar Hero set that was wrong, etc. Came home to relax a bit, and then headed back up to KoP for some extra yummy homemade pasta dinner and some more Buffy/Angel... And wine, cheese, and crackers for the fine film: "Muppet Treasure Island" (which Pat had not yet seen) as the final event of the evening.
Now, you see how it wasn't anything more than we usually do... I think between the holiday, and the general feelings of attachment increasing, and just our impending "futureness"... it was just a very relaxed, very special weekend. Definitely notable in my book.
I already can't wait to head to King of Prussia for the weekend this week... Missin' my boy.
