Busy week, ending with a special celebration

I thought that with my job over and with the CANT conference over, I'd finally get to dive into the pile of backlogged personal math that I've been wanting to do. But basically, the last couple days have been a huge amount of errands and socializing right before Christian's departure for Montreal. I guess I hadn't realized just how many things had been on the backlog besides the math, but we've bought clothes, a new dresser for me, renewed our lease, dealt with the landlord (looks like we're getting new windows and air conditioning soon!), cleaned the apartment, and taken Carmen to the vet. I'm sure I'm forgetting other things.

Yesterday we had Cai Cai over for dinner. She's back in the US for the Montreal conference. Today was a birthday party for Christian's coworker Annie. And tomorrow and Saturday is the conference in honor of Carol Wood's retirement.

Tomorrow is also the five year anniversary of our marriage. We have a very nice evening planned. I'm rather looking forward to it.

anniversary, errands, friends
