The other day I caught a glimpse of a newspaper someone was reading on the metro. Its headline began with "LOL." Huh? What serious newspaper starts it's main headline with "LOL"?!? The article was about the Olympique Lyonnais, the local football team. It's abbreviated OL, unless you care about articles, in which case it becomes l'OL, which is capitalized if it's the first word of the sentence.
