Title: Days like these
Rating: PG
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts
Warnings: None actually.
Authors Notes: This is all about her before. Tell me if you like it. And I know it doesn't tell you much but that is kind of the point. It's like she is losing her mind, though not really but that is what is suppose to sort of seem like. And yes, the main characters name is Kaiden. Yes, she is a girl. Pronounced KAY-DEN. This is suppose to take place after the Secret Ending of Kingdom Hearts II. If you don't know what that is, go look it up on Youtube. And at the end, yes her parents have forgotten her. Um, I believe that is all I have to say other then, tell me if you like it. Not sure if I will continue it but, well.... we'll see how that goes. ENJOY

She stood out from the crowd.

Her bright red hair and sparkling emerald eyes. Never fading, always holding light. Even in the darkest of places, the could be seen.

She didn't belong here.

Where she belonged, she did not know. She always wanted to know, and has wished on every birthday, on every shooting star that one day her dream could some true.

Who knew it would come a key?
Who knew it would come with a destiny that would span worlds?
Who knew she would find love?

Not her but, she was willing to find out.

First day
Her hair swayed back and forth. It was so long, she thought that she sound have cut it off. Then she remembered why she kept it so long and the thought vanished. Smiling sadly she dusted the imaginary dust off her uniform and walked into her school.

"Hey, Kaiden!" She looked up and saw her friends wave her down. She graced her face with a with a simple smile and walked towards them. They grinned happily and she ignored the intense feelings of sadness that had plagued her since she woke up this morning.

"So, are you excited for the dance next week!? Has anyone asked you?!" Jabbers an excited girl to her left. Her name was Niche, and she was a friend Kaiden made last year. The slight pain in her heart did not increase. It just laid still.

"Hello? Anyone home?" Another girl, whose hand waved it's bright pink nails in front of her face. This one's name was Jewel. Kaiden had known her since the beginning of high school. She nodded and blushed in slight embarrassment. Her heart ached a bit more, as her friends excitedly chatted amongst themselves. The last girl in the group, who's hair was inky black gave Kaiden a curious stare.

This was Anjou. Kaiden best friend, someone she had known since she was practically born. To this, the sadness was so intense it physically hurt and caused her to hunch over. She was having an attack.

"Kaiden? OH MY GOD, KAIDEN!?"
"SOMEONE CALL A TEACHER!?"
"KAIDEN!? KAIDEN!!!!" Her world went black and the intense pain never seem to vanish.

She knew she shouldn't have bothered in going to school today.

Second Day
They told her to stay home.

But she really didn't want too. Being here hurt more then being over there, with them and with her. She sighed and looked at her hair again. She grabbed the tail and looked at it. Her mind went to the reason, but her heart just stopped.

It no longer cared and really. There was nothing she could have down at this point. He is gone and he will never come back. She let her hair go and sighed.

Then there was a knock at her door.

"Come in." An older female woman, who's hair was red just like hers stuck her head in.

"Hey Kay, how you doin' hunny?" Kaiden curled her legs up and rested her chin on top of her knees.

"I'm fine mom. Just... I'm tired. That's all." She graced her face with a small smile. Her mom gave her a sad look, one that said that 'you can talk to me'. Kaiden looked away from her mom's face and frowned. Being here made her heart hurt so much. She just wanted it all to stop, to go away and to never return.

Because sometimes its just better that way.

"Well, if you need anything your father and I are downstairs okay?" She nodded and her mother left her room.

What she wouldn't do to make this all stop.

Third Day
"Happy Birthday!" They yelled. Still teh school wouldn't let her let her come back, and her parents insisted that she stay home anyways. Her friends skipped to join her. This, made her smile, if only slightly.

They talked about the dance, about the boys that had asked them, how didn't and who they wanted to asked them instead. Her parents joined the fray and asked Kaiden if any of teh boys had asked her. She shook her head. Truthfully, she did not want to go.

Her presents were piled high and they talked for what seemed like hours. She wanted the cake to come out, then she could open the presents and then they could leave. Having all the people cared about in one room made her heart hurt so much it felt liek it was bleeding on the inside. When no one was looking she winced and held it.

It was time for the cake and they all gathered around, singing the famous tune, and presented her with the fabulously done up cake. It was chocolate done with blue, white and silver icing. She smiled a true smile and thought hard, for once, about her birthday wish. Her heart felt like it was going to burst with how much love was in the room. She thought long and hard, but decided what her wish was.

'Please, to whoever listens to this wishes; stop making my heart hurt.' And then she blew out the candles. They ate cake, her heart ache a little less, opened presents, and then they left. She had not gotten much, but really she never really wanted much.

Niche had gotten her a set of earrings. They were green, like her eyes, and shaped like a star. Jewel had gotten her a new outfit, saying that is just seemed like something she would like. It was black capri's that looked like there was white shorts on top of them, a dark green tee with a low neck and a white striped mini jacket. She also gave her a set of white to-the-elbow fingerless gloves. In the back of mind, Kaiden thought that this might seem useful soon.

Anjou had given her something that she would cherish forever. It was a good luck charm shaped like a legendary fruit, shaped like a star. She claimed that if you shared it with someone, your destinies would be forever linked. So touched, and afraid that it would shatter at her touch, she gingerly held it in her hand and held it up to light to see the red turn slightly pink. She smiled another true smile and hugged best friend very tightly.

Her mom and dad gave her a key. The said it went no where, or everywhere. She smiled and thanked them. Once her friends had left, and once she had helped cleaning up she bid her parents goodnight and went to her room. She got ready for bed and slipped into it. Before falling asleep, she held up her good luck charm and smiled.

"Little one, do you wish to prove yourself?" Thinking she had fallen asleep, she nodded. The disembodied voice, seemed to smile.

"Then get dressed. A portal will open, and from there you will find out what you have always wanted to know." She did want the voice asked, putting on her friends gifts and slipping her parents into her pocket. And just like the voice promised a portal opened up, and inside was a child sized mouse, grinning very happily.

"Well, come on!" She grinned a very happy grin and jumped in. The pain in her heart stopped cold.

When the next morning her mother came to wake her, she paused in front of the door. She stared at it curiously.

"Hunny, I have a bad feeling, where is-" And like that her thought stopped. And she went away from the spot from where the door once was.

"What was that hunny?" Her mother shook her head.

"Nothing, dear."
