grumble grumble

A few weeks ago, my 5 year old son's dentist said he had an infection in three of his teeth. He prescribed penicillin. Today about a week after he finished with the antibiotics, he wakes up in excruciating pain(my son, not the dentist). The antibiotics did not kill the infection. So today they say the best course of action is to have the teeth removed. Doodlebug and I take him to the oral surgeon. The experience was not unlike getting wisdom teeth removed, except that the child is 5, not 17. The disorientation, coupled with the fact that his mouth was bleeding, and that he could not feel his jaw from the novocaine, caused this child to freak out for 45 minutes after coming to.

As we were leaving the oral surgeon, a prison guard brought in a shackled orange clad man, presumably to have his teeth worked on. On our way out this convict gives me a sympathetic look, as if there was no way he would trade places with me!

To make a long story short (too late) the little guy is home and feeling much better, and is eating all the popsicles he wants.
