yikes, i'm not usually a fan of this kind of storyline, but the way you explained it happening kinda hooked me. of course, kris' underlying love of adam is the thing that makes it work. looking forward to more.

yeah, kris is definitely concerned with adam's well being first in this... though he may lose sight of that for a bit... thanx so much, hon, glad you liked this one... next one's up now ;) *Hugs*

interesting story but honestly I'm kinda sick of Adam always being made into some love starved jackass who would let Kris or anyone else do whatever they wanted to him.

Why is Adam always the slave, drug addict, prostitute, whatever? Why do the guys always get to smack him around?

This isn't directly related to your fic but in general. It's getting redundant and overdone IMO.

You make an interesting point, silencefound. (And BTW, this fic is well-written)
It seems that people are drawn to explore the vulnerable side of a person who in RL expresses so much public self-confidence and courage, but has also been honest about his insecurities. Many people have an internal conflict between 'public self' and 'private self'. Making Adam into a submissive or an addict might be a way for people to work through their own feelings of insecurity/fearfulness in a safe (second-hand) way. In many of these types of stories Adam ultimately does gain some self-empowerment. This would be the best case scenario, right? That a person is comfortable enough to be true to their real self. But that's a growth process. Again, writing/reading about Adam going through that conflict might be a way for people to process something that we all experience to some extent.
Just IMO, and sorry to go all Psych101 on this comment. But you really made me think... so thanks for that! :)

I agree that Adam displays a lot of self confidence and courage and that's been hard earned IMO and I just often times feel that by writing him as weak or needy or even love starved it invalidates all the work that he's put into becoming the person he is today.

I don't usually see Adam gaining self empowerment in these stories through his own strength but rather by Kris deening to "love him" like it's some gift or sacrifice that Kris would dare love someone like Adam.

Perhaps it's just that I've read so many fics with this theme that it's starting to get to me LOL.

I enjoy reading the angst and the struggle... I guess for once I'd like to see it be Kris who is the weak one begging for Adam to love him.

I think a lot of people see a certain vulnerability in Adam, especially when it comes to love. He said he spent most of his early 20s searching for love and has multiple experiences with unrequited love. I think its interesting to take that vulnerability and amplify it. I don't think that has a lot to do with this fic however ( ... )
