Chapter Summary: Kris is tired of doing what he is told.
Warnings: I do not own Kris Allen or Adam Lambert. Everything I written in this entry is fiction and just a part of my wild imagination. But who knows, some of this could be true.

Kris always did what he was told. Ever since he was a little boy, he always did exactly what someone told him to do. Granted, that became a horrible habit once he became a teenager, but it did have its high moments.
When his Mama told him that he should go to the study sessions that his school held every Tuesday and Thursday, he did just that. He ended up on the honor roll throughout grades 7 to 12.
When his friends told him that it would be rewarding to volunteer in undeserved countries, he listened and never once regretted it.
When Katy suggested that he audition for American Idol, he did just that, even though he didn’t think he would make it very far.
When his parents told him to invite Adam to dinner with them one night, since Kris had constantly told them about him, he agreed and so did Adam. It had been one of his happiest moments during his Idol experience to see his parents and his newfound friend talking like they had known each other for years.
When Adam had told him to skip his nightly phone call to Katy during the tour and come to bed with him, he didn’t even hesitate. He had learned that the soft touch of Adam’s lips had dominated over everything that existed in his life. His American Idol title, the fame, Katy…
When Adam told him that they could no longer be together, he was heartbroken. Kris was ready to give up everything to be with Adam. He was ready to wake up in his strong arms every morning, to hear him whisper words of love and lust in his ear in the darkness of their bedroom and everything else that came with being in a committed relationship. But being the person he had been for the majority of his life, he did as Adam wished and accepted that they were over.
When Katy asked for a divorce, he wasn’t shocked or hurt. He was oddly relieved. For the months after he and Adam had stopped their affair, Kris slowly started to give up on his marriage. Of course he had given up on it when he and Adam first kissed, but he knew that if he couldn’t be with Adam then he couldn’t give his energy to keeping him and Katy together. He was just glad that Katy figured that out before it could become any worse.
When the divorce had been final for nearly a year, Kris finally decided to see Adam again. The two haven’t really spoken to each other since the end of the tour. When they have seen each other at various parties, they would wave or just ignore the other. It was their ritual. It is what Kris knew that Adam wanted from him. But it got to the point, where he didn’t care what Adam wanted. The divorce had smacked some much needed sense into him. He couldn’t live in a world without Adam by his side everyday. He could no longer live in a world where Adam and he were strangers to each other.
That’s how he found himself standing in front of Adam’s door, waiting for him to answer. He didn’t know exactly what he wanted to say, but he did know what he wanted to happen. He wanted him and Adam to go back the way things were during Idol but without the secrets. He wanted Adam to claim his lips, carry him upstairs and make love to him like his life depended on it.
When Adam finally opened the door and asked Kris what was the reason he was at his house, Kris answered the only way he could.
With a kiss.
Kris didn’t listen to Adam when he started to list reasons why they shouldn’t be together, instead he continued to pepper kisses all over Adam’s neck and jaw. He was tired of doing everything he was told. It was time that someone listened to him and did what he told them to do. It was time that Adam realized that he was wrong all that time ago and that they did belong together.
And Adam did indeed surrender to Kris’s commands.
