(also to my valentines: sorry if the characterisation is a bit off! i hope you like it anyway :( )

It's a call from a number he doesn't recognise and that's part of the reason he takes it, signalling an I'll be back to the rest of the guys in the studio. Teddy raises his eyebrows at the gesture before he turns back to the guitarist, speaking in a low voice.

"Hello?" Dongwook says into the phone when he's in the hallway, wondering if it's a telemarketer, his mother or god forbid, a fan.

"Hey man, wassup?"

The English and the voice behind it is instantly recognisable, and Dongwook slides to the floor, his eyes shut and grinning widely.

"Not much, man, you?"

"Not much!" Danny's warm laughter fills Dongwook's ear, and he grins brighter, right hand half covering his face. "Not much he says, what a liar. I heard you're recording a new album. Congrats on your comeback!"

"Oh, uh, thanks," Dongwook says, feeling unsafe and completely lame as he fumbles for words. It's been a while since he's spoken to Danny -- scratch that, it's been ( ... )

This is so not off! The energy and sheer glee packed into this was absolutely contagious, and I was grinning from ear to ear as I read. You nailed Se7en's "8D!" without making him sound like a child, and that's something I've always had trouble with (especially now that he's gotten older), so hat's off.

Your Teddy was spot-on as well. I can easily see him doing something like this without telling Se7en, and you've captured how silly and stupid they are around each other perfectly. (You're apologizing for the characterization up there, so I don't even know whether you were aware of Ted & Se7en's bff-ness, but Teddy calmly comparing Se7en a teenage girl and Se7en shoving a handful of papers into his face in response = yes.)

Also this is such a stupid little detail, but the mention of studio musicians made me happy, because their existence is glossed over in most fanfic, even in scenes where they should be present ( ... )

I like this! :D You've captured the sweaty, exhausted post-dance-practice atmosphere very well. And I can totally relate to Minji here, being young and naive and projecting ~MEANING~ into something that turns out to be totally unimportant to the other person. I think anyone who's had a hopeless crush knows exactly how that feels. :) "Cheated out of something that could have been wonderful" is a great way to put it.

Your take on Bom was great as well - I love her IRL for her wide-eyed, awkward flakiness, and it was easy to imagine her doing everything you wrote. :) Thank you! <3

ngl, I love Minji because she's so sweet but so fierce at the same time. and GOD YES, "projecting meaning into something that's unimportant to the other person" is totally what i meant/was going for. She doesn't even know she's charmed by Bom yet. and Bom doesn't know anything. Haha.
