Too Late

It was a cold dark winter night when Jonghyun realized exactly how much he loved Kim Kibum. But Jonghyun already took him for granted. He realized too late. He was too late.

Life is lonely without Kibum in his life. Life is dull without Kibum to brighten him up. But he was stupid. He was a fool. He was too late.

He ran out, unfazed by the cold winter breeze. Running from block to block, ignoring his freezing fingers, he frantically searched for Kibum. He wanted to apologize. He wanted him to know how much he loved Kibum. But he was too late. He was too slow. He was too stupid.

Kibum stood there smiling, leaning on a brick wall beside a small coffee shop. But before Jonghyun could run to him and hug him-and tell him how much he love him and how much he need him-Kibum grabbed the hand of the guy in front of him-Minho. Kibum removed the ring Jonghyun gave him a few months before and put it on Minho’s long slender finger.

All the emotion drained out of Jonghyun’s head. He was too late to hold on to Kibum. He was too late to let Kibum know his true feelings. He was too late. And before Jonghyun thought of walking away and admitting defeat, his immediate reactions clouded his mind. He ran towards Choi Minho, ignoring how happy he was and how happy Kibum had looked.

“You!” He cried out angrily. “Wae?!”

“I’m sorry, hyung.” Minho sighed. “But I really love Kibum.”

“Why does it have to be you?!” Jonghyun practically screamed out, ignoring the hot liquid running down his cheeks like waterfalls. “It could have been anyone! WHY YOU?!”

“I’m sorry, hyung.”

Minho jogged away. Jonghyun fell to the blanket of snow covering the ground, ignoring the temperature that was slowly captivating his body. Ignoring the pain from all the snow on his body, he kneeled on the snow, leaving small tracks from the tears falling down his face.
