Hi, I'll try to answer all your questions:

- these are smart quotes

- HTML in this case refers to when you bold or italicise words in your fic - please don't include the HTML tags in your word count

- please do not post your fic before we give you the go ahead - that would defeat the purpose of keeping assignments a secret. The 'link to work you remixed' means provide a link to the fic you remixed, the original fic ie if you remixed one of mine you'd link to my fic comm

- I don't understand why you'd need to delete your work to find out the word count? if you haven't used any HTML tags yet you can go just by the word number in whatever word processing program you're using, and if you have used HTML tags you can post it to your journal in a private entry, copy the story and paste it into Word and get the word count from there ( ... )
