So Southpark did it's 200th episode celebration as a two parter. The first part aired uncensored and was generally awesome as most south park episodes go. The second one however, was edited by comedy central.
In the previous episode, all the celebrities ever made fun of on South Park were suing the town. They were willing to drop the lawsuit if the boys handed over Muhammad. The celebrities wanted to drain Muhammad of his power that makes him invincible from being made fun of.
In the next episode not only was the image of Muhammad censored. They even bleeped out the name. It's fucking ridiculous. Trey and Matt are refusing to stream the censored episode online. And good for them I say.
This is a show that has made fun of every subculture/religion/fad/celebrity/politician equally. No one is safe. Show the world you are not afraid. You were willing to lose the character of Chef because of the Scientology episode. You let them blatantly make fun of Mel Gibson and the Passion of the Christ without blinking an eye. You let Matt and Trey use the word "shit" uncensored 162 times in an episode. You've let them continue to use the word "shit" uncensored following that episode. You aired an episode where a statue of Mary sprays blood from her vagina. You let them use the word "nigger" 42 times in the episode "With Apologies to Jessie Jackson". As a network you realized the controversy gives you ratings and so far you did a great job following through with it. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU AFRAID OF NOW? Yes there is the threat of extremist Muslim groups and to censor this episode is giving them power over you. WELL SCREW THEM!!! THEY WANT TO USE FEAR AND VIOLENCE OVER A STUPID CARTOON!!! TELL THEM TO BRING IT!!! JUST LET THEM TRY IT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!! STAND UP FOR YOURSELF FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!
