LED light pics
Well, the bulbs arrived today. I did the smart thing and asked a friend to drop by so I could have someone spot me while I was clambering up a ladder to reach the ones over the staircase. I didn't want to wait until my roommates came home. With my luck, I'd fall off a ladder and no one would find my body for several hours or more. :p
Anyway, they went in nicely and look right spiffing. One wasn't working at all, so I'll have to send it back for an exchange.

I was hoping they'd be brighter than they turned out, but as my eyes adjusted from the blazingly bright 200W of light I was using before, I found it was still bright enough to read. The dining room lights went from 200W to 14W, but the amount of light doesn't look proportionately less (I don't know the exact brightness change since regular bulbs use one unit and LED bulbs use another).
Overally, I'm happy. One day, better and brighter bulbs will come out, but until then, these'll do. :)
