the adventures of 'we are dating'
a/n: i was actually really sad when this show was canceled and minah/xander were my favorite couple, so i decided to write about them
one.
out of the three of them, alexander thinks minah is the prettiest.
so he stares at her the most.
two.
"i think minah has a black guy in her body, and she sings like a black person! it's amazing!"
unusually, he finds it an extreme turn on. he wonders if she can teach him how to dance like he were from itaewon and not hong kong.
(he's happy that she chooses to date him later.)
three.
on their first date, he tries to be a man at the amusement park.
when the cameras are off, he finds himself yelling in english, chinese, and portugese (just) on the viking ride.
minah lets out these wild screams that deafen him in one ear, but he comes to the conclusion that maybe he's making her just as deaf with his constant, "OHHHH MY GOD, WE'RE GOING TO DIE."
after they get off the ride he inhales deeply, trying to keep himself composed. minah is just grinning ear from ear. "where to next, oppa?"
habitually, alexander flashes her his own wide grin - but then he realizes the cameras aren't filming them anymore.
"if you smile any wider your face might break," he wants to reach out and poke her cheek, but he doesn't.
she shrugs because she doesn't really care and he comes to the conclusion that she's naturally happy. on and off camera.
(that her being hyperactive, cute, and annoying isn't just an act.)
he finds that within itself kind of awesome.
"let's go to the bathroom before we go anywhere else," alexander says with another (not forced) smile.
"okay!" but they see a roller coaster heading in that direction with not so many people.
after minah forces him to go on with her, "then we'll go to the bathroom, it'll be just like two minutes, look how short the line is!" his legs wobble and he uses her tiny frame for support.
nevertheless, he's pretty sure he doesn't have to go anymore.
four.
it's explosive cheesiness when she wants to become a campus couple on their second date.
he's cringing on the inside from all the dorkiness, but he likes it.
"alkong dalkong! aren't they such good nicknames!?" minah chimes and writes on the chalkboard, filling it with hearts and squiggly lines. she throws a glance over her shoulder, "alkong!" and he responds with, "dalkong!"
when they finally get some alone time while eating, alexander can't help but stare.
"is there something on my face?" she asks, mouth half full of noodles.
he nods his head and heaves a heavy sigh, "it's ALL over your face."
minah drops her chopsticks and slaps her hands against her cheeks, eyes wide and brows furrowed. "what is it!?"
alexander shakes his head, "pretty."
after that he thinks he should be shot for being cheesy even off camera, but she just laughs and earns scowls from other students.
his heart flutters.
five.
"i'm sorry boys, but they decided to end the show," their manager tells them.
alexander tries not to scoff in disgust at eli's seemingly look of relief, but seeing soohyun's lips pull down into a frown at least lets him know it wasn't all just an act.
but he doesn't want to seem that disappointed, so he just smiles - pretty wide, but eli can see the dullness that flickers across his expression.
"it's okay, it was a good experience anyways!"
six.
he has her number, but he hasn't called in two weeks.
alexander finds out that eli never even got jihae's number and soohyun can't bring himself to call yura.
alexander wonders if he should call and tell her that he is sorry for not calling. then he wonders why she didn't call either, or maybe she's just flirting with someone else (like hongki.)
so, he settles on a text.
i'm sorry the show got canceled and we didn't even get to say goodbye TT_TT but hopefully we will see each other sometime soon!
alexander stares at it for a moment and ultimately, he decides to press clear.
he doesn't want it to be a, "we used to be on a variety show together, and then it got canceled, so now we don't talk!" relationship.
he thinks she might have meant a little more than that (that she made his heart beat just a little bit faster.)
so he tries again,
alkong!
and he thinks it's enough to send.

he doesn't get a response until three days later, but it's with a call.
"oppa!" her voice is lighter and cheerier than he actually remembers, but unknown to him, it has burnt itself in the back of his mind.
"alkong!"
"dalkong!" minah's explosive laughter makes his lips curve so wide, his face might just break.
"i miss you! when i got your text i was so happy, but my manager took our phones because the last few days were really needed for us to focus on practicing but -"
"i miss you too," alexander says it seriously and he doesn't get a quick reply from the other side.
minah is just smiling so damn wide, her face might have just actually broke.
