^$$%#@$#$^%$%^&%$#$#@...and then some

Yeah, so it's been one of those wonderful nights at work again. I put in my two weeks notice, and now they're trying to get me to stay. After tonight what a friend of mine pulled...there's no way I am staying. I go to work, spend a little time talking to the GM about the whole "to stay or go" situation... and she gets all crotchy with me because I didn't get the beginning of shift stuff done immediately after entering the building. I told her to leave it, I would do it.. so she got pissed off and did it herself. After a while, she apologized. Done and over, right? WRONG.
Another co-worker and a classmate of my friend/coworker came in to do their math homework in the breakfast area of our hotel since it was most convenient for the two (who aren't working) to meet there. Fine. WELL, my friend goes over, sits herself down and does her homework. Leaving me to take care of everything else for the night at the desk. I did a couple of shuttles, ran all three floors looking for pillows and coffee...answered the phones and checked people in. She had the portable phone on the table with her, but she rarely answered it. I had to physically leave the desk 5 times to tell her to come help me out...in front of 15 of our guests, no less. Looks reeeeaaallly nice, ne? If it were slow, I wouldn't mind...but it wasn't. I didn't get a chance to even get a drink, pee, or eat more than a half slice of pizza. No food, tired Jenn = one royally pissed off hypoglycemic. I'm loving the fact that she spent so little of the night working, but was getting paid for it. She thought she was being nice by letting me go home early. RIIIIGHT. She gets paid for more time now. While I ran myself ragged for several hours. I told her this. She didn't understand why I was upset. I told her everything. She says she did some shuttles and that I wouldn't let her answer the phone. Should I really have to answer this??? She was there to work...not to do her homework, so I wound up doing all of the things on the list except for making cookies. She could be bothered to do that. She complains and whines so much about people not helping her out... how the hell does she think that makes me feel. I'm glad to see she's all talk and no action. She certainly answered my debate as to whether I would stay there anymore. With friends like those, who needs enemies?
