I just realized that I'm leaving for New Hampshire, for kimuracarter's wedding, in less than three weeks.

Wow.

I have two weekends left to do everything I need to do, and on one of them, I have to work Saturday.

Okay.

I HAVE:
- booked the cat sitter with the service
- booked the rental car
- booked the hotel room along the trip
- bought the train tickets
- purchased a new atlas and some books for the trip
- obtained my maid-of-honor dress and shoes, and made sure they all fit appropriately
- taken my cats to the vet and had their vaccinations updated
- reserved my hotel room for the night of the wedding
- arranged transportation to and from the wedding for both myself and Karasu
- cleaned out my car
- booked the place for the bachelorette party and sent out invites

I STILL NEED TO:
- confirm the cat sitter, as I haven't heard from her since booking her with the service
- do laundry in a major way
- clean this hellhole apartment in a major way
- take the car for its one-year maintenance before I try to drive it to Flagstaff
- figure out what to pack and what to pack it in
- pack it

Wow.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th

Leave work. Go home and grab all our stuff. Kiss the kitties goodbye. Drive to Flagstaff. Probably will arrive in Flagstaff around 10 PM. Set three alarm clocks and get some sleep.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th

4 AM: Check out of the hotel and head for the train station.

5 AM: Train leaves, whee!

More sleep will hopefully ensue. We totally splurged and got ourselves a "roomette", which means we'll have about as much space as a closet, but it'll be a closet with two beds in it. Totally the way to go, when it comes to train travel.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21st

Here's where it gets fun.

3 PM: Train arrives in Chicago. At this point we will take all our crap and hail a taxi. The taxi takes us to Midway airport, where we can pick up our rental car. Why are we taking the train only halfway? Two reasons. 1) The train from Flagstaff to Chicago is a Superliner, and thus has roomettes available. The train the rest of the way does not. 2) There's an 8 hour layover in Chicago, so if we get our asses in a car and drive, we can actually get in earlier.

After picking up the rental car, we will drive until we're too tired to drive anymore.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd

Get up bright and early. Drive a whole bunch more. Arrive in Nashua somewhere between 3 PM and midnight, depending on traffic and how far we make it on Sunday before we collapse. Order Chinese food and sit around my sister's apartment until unconsciousness arrives.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23rd

Daytime free. Dinner with brother, sis-in-law, and sister.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24th

Daytime free. Trip to Lull? Apple-picking, hopefully? Dinner with Karasu's family.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25th

Daytime free. Bachelorette party at ~5 PM.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th

Daytime partially free. Wedding rehearsal and dinner.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27th

WEDDING! All day.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th

Get up at the ass-crack of dawn, throw all our shit in the rental car, drive as far as we possibly can in one day before sleeping.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th

Get up at the ass-crack of dawn. Arrive in Chicago by 1 PM. Return the rental car. Train leaves at 3 PM.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30th

Train all day. Arrive in Flagstaff at 8 PM, if the train is on time. And it had better be, because then we have to retrieve our car and drive back to Mesa and home, hopefully arriving by midnight or so, so we can get some sleep, since the next day is...

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1st

Return to work.

Wow. This is going to be one hell of a vacation. Fortunately, I don't have anything planned for most of the *days*, just the evenings, so I'll be free if the Lovely Bride needs me. Wish me luck!
