Well, tGA stuff is now well underway, and it amazed me that quite a few people checked the site out. So far so good, it seems. DocFrance seemed to have a good time testing the limits of the rules, and Bahumat did the necessary edits. I'll be monitoring his character once he posts in the RP, though, just in case he decides to pull some crazy über-powerful weapon out of his ass or something. =P
I had some nice voice and video chats, and they turned out to be hilarious. Seems like online people still know how to have fun, so that's good. Oddly enough I ended up having a lot more random people contacting me, but the ones I talked to haven't been that bad... at least not yet. xD
At times the chats at channels such as #eoff were quite fast-paced and yet funny, and occasionally there were some deep, thoughtful subjects which we discussed such as matters concerning believers, Atheists and Agnostics. Funnily enough I also met a Muslim with whom I had an interesting theological debate, and in the process I also learned some new stuff about Islam.
As for anime, the recent Bleach episodes were hilarious. Pessche being a pervert made me chuckle, and Chad vs. Gantenbainne had groovy disco music playing in the background, which was hilarious. I also need to watch the remaining episodes of Monster, because so far the storyline has been good, and I'd like to see how it all ends.
As for Shark, I wanted to erase my memory after watching Shark's daughter doing some really, really stupid stuff. I was hoping that the series would concentrate on James Woods but no, they just had to bring in an annoying teenaged daughter and her rich, snobby friend and make them the centerpieces of some of the story arcs. Seriously, can't we get at least one decent, not-so-rich teenager in American series nowadays? It seems as if they're all following the "ooh" principle of bitchyness, which is very unfortunate (maybe it's just a necessary action to bring in younger viewers for the shows?).
Our Sociolinguistics group had some discussions about varios stuff such as ethnicity, gender and age, and we also talked about stuff like Labov's seminal study. The causal analysis rewrite went smoothly as well, and we had some good discussion in the Research Article class. The Translation III course had some annoying EU press release text which had so much jargon that it was hard to translate (even though press releases are the clearest texts in terms of content in the EU legislative branch). We discussed people such as Doris Lessing in the New Literatures of English class, and we also covered concepts such as negritude, third space, subaltern and other things as well.
I still have around 40 pages of Dawnthief left to read, so I'll post a review of it once I finish reading it. =)
