The kids arrived yesterday. The kids who are in my class had to take some diagnostic tests when the other kids and their parents were attending the welcome assembly. We distributed the tests, graded them, and placed them according to the test results. Some of them are going to do 'Algebra 1' (whatever it is) while the other ones will be doing 'Pre-Algebra'.
Sad thing; due to massive lack of organisation of the admin people, they didn't order textbooks for my class. Supposedly, they will have enough textbooks for everybody in these three 'Math Sequence' boxes. Well, those boxes only have 1 textbook for each level (1 algebra 1, 1 prealgebra, 1 geometry, etc.) So, I ended up photocopying three chapters of the pre-algebra book, while the instructor (okay, I will stop typing 'the instructor', since it's kind of long... His name is Damian) photocopied the Algebra 1 book. That was quite a pain. I stood next to the photocopy machine for around an hour, and spent some more time standing and sorting the pages. And the staplers didn't work since the photocopied packets are too thick.
Anyway, the kids in my class are sooo cute. Arr... Most of them are Asian. Well, correct that. Most of them are Chinese and Korean. There is probably one Pakistani. And one Dutch-French kid. There is an Alex and an Axel, which is kind of funny.
Ah, have to go to class...
