I've had English muffin rings for years and have planned on making crumpets. I finally did today, and they're delicious.

And I've knit five rows today!

I should've trusted my instincts and the review that said 20 minutes, not 24-28 minutes. The baguettes burned!

I'll try again tomorrow. They smelled delicious...

ETA: They are delicious! Just too crispy for the sandwiches I had planned. They'll be good with leftover lentil soup though!

I now know the proper way to insert the blade in the lame for the baguettes I'm making tomorrow.

Of course, as I was saying, this is scary, as I put it in backwards, I cut my thumb, I wish I had known that earlier. There are dots to help you put it in properly. It didn't hurt at all, but so much blood. Ack.

I thought I'd work on the sweater a lot today, but instead I made bagels. This is the second time I've made them. They felt like they took all day because I did other things in between each step. But I have poppyseed, sesame seed, parmesan, and garlic bagels. This is a good thing!

So that sleep prediction from the other day ended up being accurate. I wanted to make the middy blouse today, but took a long nap and now just want to do nothing. I'm fine with this.

I'll probably work on the pink sweater and I need to write out the directions and check the measurements of the sweater for the hiking costume. The yarn will be here ( Read more... )

I haven't sewn yet, but I did make cheese bread, gingerbread, and read an actual book, so it's been a good day!

The cheese bread is amazing. The gingerbread didn't come out of the pan in one piece (oops!) so I have a new pan on the way. Regular bread stuck in that pan too. I have another regular loaf pan coming too so I can double bread recipes.

I think I'm going to make the goal of starting the cat head.

And it took me two days into doing this to notice I'm using the same colors as the talma and mariposa.

A larger part of today was taken up with dinner than planned. But aloo paratha with homemade cilantro mint chutney was totally worth it. So good. And it was the first time I made it, so ( Read more... )
