(no subject)
This past year has been like 4 years all wrapped into one. When I think back to each segment of the year, I can hardly believe it happened within 2009. First, there was coming back to school until the drop period ended, when I realized I wasn't motivated enough to continue classes. That portion of the year shall be henceforth and never again known as the "Jewett days." After that, I successfully attempted to live as a moop, taking advantage of some awesome friends who let me use some of their extra space. I then proceeded to launch myself into virtual worlds, while in the meantime keeping up my weekly meetings with friends. These were the days of TA13. It was really quite fun, actually, despite the tensions that developed by my headbutting opinions at times. THEN, summer. I think back to the summer, and I think, "what the hell did I do over the summer this year?"
Really, I don't remember. Was this the summer that I interned at the communications department at the KofC? That seems right... no... wait... right, it was at Vassar. I worked at Vassar! That was actually kinda cool, because I got to continue that lazy phase of life, and succumbed to the full temptations of WoW before sputtering out and quitting sometime in June. Then, I just played video games or watched Netflix all day, with a weekly RPG going. Fun!
And then school work again. Finally realized shit needs to get done, whether or not I'm motivated enough to do it. I'll worry about the rest later.
And then there's the past few weeks. In the midst of realizing work needs to get done, I began to ponder what goals I could give myself for successfully completing the work. From this came a list of all the things I want to do over break, which is mostly just play video games, but here's the whole thing, in order of what I'll probably do first:
Finish Dragon Age: Origins on my primary character
Finish Spirit Tracks (got held up because my DS froze, losing 2 hours of play... and now there's DA:O)
Get work done on Koholint.com (which is back up, btw, better than ever). There are a lot of smaller tasks associated with this, which I'll be doing off and on when I don't feel like gaming.
Write articles for Koholint (off and on, again)
See Sherlock Holmes
Play Batman: Arkham Asylum
Finish Fable 2 DLC and maybe start another playthrough, depending on how DA:O leaves me.
Replay DA:O for achievement whoring. I've already gotten like 290/1100, and am halfway through... There also seems to be enough extra content for another playthrough to provide a wholly different story experience, and enough characters to keep the banter lively.
Finish Tales of Vesperia
Finish Overlord 2
Finish Twilight Princess 100% run
Plan online D&D campaign... this is really exciting... can't say anything though, because my players might read this!

some data storage stuff
