How did I not get a teaching position??
I love working in coffeehouses because, (1) coffeehouses and caffeine are just inherently amazing, and (2) people think that I can't hear them just because I have headphones on.
I was at Columbia Heights Coffee last week, and a group of (very loud) junior high school teachers was sitting next to me half-assedly making lesson plans and whole-assedly gossiping about everything under the sun. Most of it was pretty boring until one teacher loudly proclaimed that the only country in Africa that she made her students learn was Namibia because that's where Brad and Angelina had their baby and why do they have to know anything about Africa anyway?
I later find out that their school still hasn't been accredited. And I weep for the state of education... again...
