Don't mess with taxes!
I spent the first 7 hours of my shift (i.e. from 9 to 4:30) on the front cash. I had a half-hour lunch, then went back to the front. Because of the length of the shift, I'm entitled to a 15-minute break. I was hesitant to ask for one, because it always tends to get busy when I take one.
It gets past 4, and I'm still on cash, and I tell Heather that I haven't had a break yet. I don't say I want one, I don't say that I need one because I'm entitled to one. I just wanted to let it be known, and that I wouldn't mind getting off cash soon, as I get off at 5. No huge deal, all I wanted was to get off cash, not necessarily a break.
So Heather comes up to me, mad as hell (as she has a tendency to be) over nothing, saying I could have taken my break at any point during the day. I was like "Uh, yeah... I probably could have. But I uh, didn't." My mistake. I waited for her to tell me whether I got one or not, or whatever. Instead she takes me off cash at 4:30 and tells me to go home early, because apparently I HAVE to take the 15, and there's no point in me working for 15 minutes once I got back. Then she accused me of having performed some kind of stunt, which I did *not* take kindly to.
So, basically, her and I start yelling at each other in the back warehouse over a fucking 15 minute break that, I admit, shouldn't have hesitated in taking until late. I am not, however, apologizing for being yelled at and accused of "pulling a stunt". I'm not a fucking pushover, and I wasn't treated properly. Undoubtedly she'll tell Randy (Manager), which is great - he'll get both our sides.
Hopefully I'll be out of there before long, anyway.
ARGH.... I haven't really written a rant in my LJ for a long while. Not that it was a rant, per se, but I've gotta vent somehow.
I never got to drink any green beer, though I never really planned on it anyhow. Why go out and pay an arm and a leg for a single beer with food colouring, when I can stay home and do the same for less? But then again, I didn't do that either. I sat here, downloaded some vids and stewed about work.
I have the day off tomorrow, which is definitely for the best. I have to go over my taxes with my sister, but hopefully that won't take long. I hope that if any of y'all plan anything, contact the poor bugger who wrote what you're reading right now! *winks*
