Weekly Asian Post, Vol. 87
So now I have come upon that point in the year where it becomes increasingly impossible to keep up with the WAP. Normally, I wrote in it on Mondays. That seems to want to change this year, as my Monday nights are generally totally stolen by Chi Alpha and what I can only call "group Heroes watching". I'll see what happens in terms of WAP scheduling and such. One of these days I'll have something brilliant to write; that day just seems a mile away at the moment.
So here's this week's WAP, in outline form:
- Guitar Hero III comes out on Sunday, meaning that I'll be reporting to Gamestop on Saturday night to pick up my copy. Too bad that our house's Batman movie marathon starts that night, otherwise I would never stop playing. Maybe that's more of a fortunate thing than anything else.
- I went to see my advisor today so that I could get a scheduled time to set my classes for next semester. Boy, do I love the constant reminders about how bad my grades are and how I'm "on the edge". Yeah, I get it people.
- Went on a retreat this past weekend with Chi Alpha, which was a great experience. I probably wasn't as spiritually connected as they had hoped over the weekend, but I think the best part was seeing how a lot of other people were being affected positively by the weekend. It was quite emotional at times, from the rock concert by the Worship Team to stepping outside right afterwards and finding out UVA pulled out another win in football. Again, great experience, can't wait for the next one.
- Happy Birthday to my housemate and buddy Paul, who turned 21 today. I'm not an alcoholic by any means, but I can't wait to turn 21 just so that I can drink when I feel like it. Paul loved having Guinness with his dinner tonight.
- I'm starting to explore other possibilities with my life after school. Yes, I would love to drop out, but I know that's not an option if I'm going to sustain myself and my family for the rest of my life. Maybe there's some sort of music recording talent hidden within me that I need to take the time to pull out. Maybe I should answer this semi-calling I've always had and apply to work for a video game magazine or company. Maybe I can become a sports journalist, analyst, or commentator somewhere down the road. I need to get this degree over with first, and then I guess I'll see where I'm going to go from there.
That's all I have for you today. Have a great week and let me know if you wanna come over to the Price House and ROCK once GHIII comes home with me.
