The dockworker was a possessive boyfriend. Captain Orion Pax was a badass living by his own personal moral code. The archivist was a meek little thing at first, but tended to verbally whiplash anyone who pissed him off.
If we go by G1 standards, Optimus Prime judged the shit out of everyone, had somewhat limited patience for all his soldiers' more disruptive quirks, and his solution to diplomatic situations (at least amongst equals) was a punch in the face.
