wtf was the last two days
This is Aiden.
He is a dick. The most beautiful, crazy dick that has ever gotten his head caught in a paper bag and ran up and down the house, into walls, in a blind panic because he now knows that the paper bag will kill him.
He's on psych meds now. Anti-depressants, really, which have an anti-anxiety effect on him. He's better now, which means he doesn't spend every waking moment certain that everything that is not Juu will kill him. Now, he only has semi-normal feline freakouts.

Son of a bitch had a blockage in his urinary tract. The night before Thanksgiving, so no vet was open. The emergency vet costs quite a bit more, you can imagine, and that's where he's spent the last day, apparently shredding bags attached to his catheter and requiring a "CAUTION" label (according to his charts).
Juu and I picked his Highness up this morning to transfer him to the regular vet. This picture was taken then. As you can imagine, he is Unhappy.
I won't go into financial woe-is-me details, but shitfuck this costs a lot. Like, enough that Juu seriously had to think about putting him down while I tried to not cry that whole night. Still not sure if he's out of the woods now anyway, although it looks better than it was. If Juu hadn't taken him to the vet when she did, he probably would have died within a few hours.
Of course, telling any of this to Juu's mom is like watching a car slowly explode. I was treated to her folksy, practical wisdom last night as Juu had to drive her to the thanksgiving day dinner (which was... something, let me tell you).
"Raw food diet? What's that? ... Oh. Sardines are good! You can get them really cheap in the cans!"
Yes, because treating a cat with a finicky digestive system that could kill him with urine crystals at any time is as easy as feeding him canned sardines. I'm sure that's what the raw food diet is all about.
She then proceeded to call the vet that treated her elderly dog for seizures (that had been going on all day and she neglected to inform anyone of) a greedy bitch, in so many words.
