Review: Zumba Fitness for the Wii

So joules_burn got Zumba for christmas. Unfortunately, she got in a car accident about a month ago, and her back is manifesting all sorts of problems. Her therapist is forbidding her from twisting her back or picking up heavy things. So I got to try it out first, to see if it's Wingmate Approved.

Holy shit this game.

My siblings got that as a sort of early Christmas gift -- one tried it once and hasn't bothered since, the other is obsessed (over an hour a day -sometimes two- which wouldn't be a bad thing, except that she wonders why she's sore and keeps getting stitches in her side).

I gave it a go a couple times. And actually, its pretty darned simple...if you can follow the movement on the blasted screen! Half the time, I can't quite tell what the person is doing. Takes standing there and watching the routine before I can get it. And while it worked me out, it couldn't quite keep my attention. I was actually somewhat...bored. That and I have to watch my heart-rate or I risk blackouts.

I found Tae Bo continuously irritating. I'm just an oddball. XD

Though if it helps for the whole shaking bit, the secret to hip-wiggling isn't with the hips themselves at all. It's the abs and the knees. :P

Um, that 'irritating' after tae bo, make that 'interesting'. D'oh.
