Short Winter Days
I can't post to the community with Iruka's account yet, so I'm just posting this narrative from my own LJ. ^^
Narrative: Open
Characters: Iruka and anyone else who cares to participate.
General Setting: On a bench, outside the main building of the college, around 5:00 PM
Summary: Iruka is having trouble focusing, so he's settled to enjoy a sunset instead.
Warnings: None as of yet.
Iruka sighed heavily, continuing his failing attempts to finish his assigned reading. The streaming light of the afternoon flashing through his dorm room window had been too much for the brunette to resist, drawing him outside and onto a low wooden bench outside the school’s main building. Although the fading rays of the sun were somehow calming, they were also rather distracting to anyone who actually had work to do.
Perhaps this wasn’t the wisest of choices, Iruka thought to himself, pulling his jacket tighter around his shoulders to shield himself from the chill in the air. The dorms had been quiet recently. Too quiet for his liking, in fact, and Iruka found himself escaping the unsettling quiet of his room more and more often in favor of more active places… like the library.
No noise in a school for ninjas is somehow wrong and fitting at the same time.
Closing his book gently and setting it beside him on the bench, Iruka stuffed his hands into his jacket pockets, slouching a bit into the bench and resigning himself to watching the early winter sunset.
