[V0679: COMM 20] Interpersonal Communication Skills. MW 12:30-2:00 PM.
Instructor - Brian Shapiro

this isn't so much a class on how practicing communication skills as much as it is a class on the theory of communication. regardless everyone is going to be expected to do a lot of talking in this course and i have never really done very well in courses where i am supposed to engage in conversation because... well, i am a puss. the professor is a very charismatic and animated guy, though, so i can't help but be optimistic. it's also my first class. usually at this point in the morning my coffee is wearing off and i would probably fall asleep if it weren't for the high level of interaction so far.

[V00037: MATH 13] Introduction to Statistics. MW 2:00-4:00 PM.
Instructor - Phyllis Lee

uuuuugggh. pack fifty-odd people into a room built for thirty underground without windows (duhr,) air conditioning, and have them taught by a tiny chinese grandma who has a lot of very dry information to give you while speaking slowly and e-nun-ci-a-ting each syllable of every word (though not actually bothering to pronounce them correctly) and try to guess how comfortable they are. it does not help that i am not very good at any sort of math in the first place. i am particularly horrified about this class. it is around this time that the coffee keeping me awake is completely gone, therefore this is the only class i've ever fallen asleep in on the first day. megahot five foot tall japanese boy is in this class, though, so at least there's something for me to look at between syllables.

[V0385: ENG 5] Critical Thinking. M 6:30-9:30 PM
Instructor - Cleavon Smith Jr.

the instructor for this class is a very young and attractive sassy black man and i like him implicitly. this is essentially a more intelligent and cordial debate course, however, and i am uncomfortable with the concept of being taken out of my comfort zone and forced to defend or attack anyone's beliefs, be they my own or someone else's. also, this is a very long class and i'll usually be getting home at around 10:30 to 11:00 PM on mondays and summarily passing out on the floor.

next semester (fall), i will theoretically be enrolled in the art program (yes yes yes finally wahooooooo!) at san francisco state university unless god decides to pee on my foot. i am very happy to be doing more art lately though, uh yeah, some direction would be really fucking helpful thx.

i have been making a very concious effort to post regularly in my livejournal. for something that i have made so integral to my own daily routine i sure don't use my own very often.
