First impressions - Eve no Jikan

Sep 19, 2009 10:34

Basic plot summary: Takes place in modern Japan. Androids have become extremely common in daily life. One day, a student named Rikuo is viewing his android's activity log, and finds out she has been going somewhere that he hasn't told her to. He goes to this location and finds a cafe called "Eve no Jikan" (or Time of Eve). In this cafe, the only rule is that discrimination between androids and humans is forbidden.

Thoughts: This show is really interesting!
Seriously, that's the first thought that crossed my mind. It reminds me of Chobits, but with the ecchi and Hideki removed. I think that, if anime like Shakugan no Shana (or something similar) are the only thing that can grab your attention span and hold it, you won't enjoy this show.
The seiyuu work is as good as any other anime I've seen lately. But Jun Fukuyama plays the main character, so I'm reminded of Watanuki and that one guy from Amatsuki.
The animation is good, and the character designs work. The female characters do look good, but the male characters are somewhat forgettable.

I've watched all the episodes that have been shown on ZOMGAnime, and I'm pretty sure that this anime is far from over. There have been five episodes so far, with the sixth due out sometime this month, according to wikipedia.

Mark so far: 8/10!
