ZOMG.
ZOMG.
ZOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*engages in long and indulgent happy dance*
Y'see, the relatively high-level music ensembles my school has are: Senior Jazz, Orchestra, Choir (there used to be Senior Choir, but it's been discontinued due to lack of enrollment) and Senior Band (which I am currently a member of).
The thing is, enrollment for Senior Band this past year has been well above EIGHTY students. Next year, it was projected to be over ONE HUNDRED. Plus another one hundred-something students in other courses.
Since my music teacher's health has been suffering considerably over this past year, so I completely understand why he and the school administration will not allow him to take on the same workload.
Therefore, he decided to create "Honors Wind Ensemble", a by-audition course of about 35-40.
And I was selected.
(But Senior Band still exists. But the workload has been better distributed, with the size of Senior Band being cut in half, essentially. But then, I don't really work for the school, so I don't know the specifics...)
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE GOOD NEWS!
Lately, they've been saying that Marching Band might become a course.
Seriously.
