Of Comics & Productivity...oh and some frills too
So work was a real blargh most of this week. Not too terrible just lots going on and for thurs & fri I pulled in an hour and a half of OT. Not like it'll make a huge diff on a check for me but anything extra in the money department is always welcome.
Thursday I got the box of frill from TaoBao which was mine and judicialnoir's order. She got lots of pretty stuff. I just got some shoes and socks. Got my first pair of rocking horse shoes and I LOVE THEM!!!! Of the socks I like and can use one pair. The second pair I thought from the pics was just supposed to be black and white but they were black and the designs were in pastel pink and mint....not usable at all for me so they'll be going out for sale here in the next few days. Also this week got 2 packages in the mail that were really pretty second hand (one is brand new never worn and the other is so lightly used it's practically new) h.naoto shirts. <3<3<3 Also sold another item out on the commsales so that made me happy and has fed some comic addiction.
So yes about comics - Picked up and started reading the Infestation series and all it entails. Just need to find a Ghostbusters 1 for it and I've got the set. Also need to pick up the continuation one for GI Joe since I have the continuation one for Transformers. This is more like I need to take a moment and go "whoa Melanie and American comics...wtf?". Nah I haven't been into US comics in a long time and there's a lot of new and interesting stuff out there. At our local comic book shop you can start a subscription box but need to have 4 titles for it so we came up with 4 to get it and having that box also gets you 10% off all of your purchases. We do a bit of shopping there so that'll help. Logan's currently reading some Dungeons and Dragons comics and I picked up and am following the Infestation thing and also fun ones, especially for all those steampunk fans out there, Lady Mechanika. I'm also interested sometime in picking up Chrome Grey because the artwork in it was pretty nice and impressive.
So on the productivity front. Last night I was finally able to work on Kanon. I have a portion of the top finished. I'm still painting the sleeve which I'll need to finish before attaching to the top. Also need to get some red ribbon to finish the collar for the top and some D-rings to do the two straps that come across. Am gonna hold off on the hakama in case I run out of time and end up just using my Kaito one instead of making one to go with Kanon cause I still gotta make Kanon Wakeshima for judicialnoir and all I've done for it was buy half the kimono fabric.... still soooo much to do and less than 2 months to do it in along with panel planning and a bajillion other things on my plate... wish me luck on getting everything done! I'm gonna try hard to get out of the slumps I find myself in, but I have to realize I'm getting older and I've gotta do this thing called resting sometimes... I actually passed out asleep last night while folding laundry....
Today the local doll group is having our easter picnic...Me and judicialnoir are dressing loli for it since both of us have sort of been in a slump in the loli department and figured we both got a handfull of new stuff a fun day at the park (with good weather to boot) would be a great time to bust out the frills...So gotta go get stuff ready for this afternoon now ^_^
