If you have an iPhone, normally, you'd just hook your phone up to a PC, load iTunes and let the software do it's thing to deliver a brand spankin' new OS version to the device.
Not so with a jailbroken phone.
iPhone's 3.0 OS rolled out back in September, I believe; I did that upgrade, but never moved on to the next upgrade, 3.1.1, which came swiftly on the heels of the one before. I finally got around to it tonight, and it's like having a new toy all over again. After some troubleshooting, MMS is working, and the phone's overall performance has improved immensely.
It's more effort to use a customized OS, but once you do it, you never want to go back. Jailbreaking turned my device from a cool toy into a tiny handheld computer. SO worth it.
